In California, Acupuncturists are recognized as primary care physicians and are appropriate to see for most general health concerns. This medicine not only addresses physical conditions, but also mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of every patient.
Acupuncture successfully addresses many conditions including:
- Surgical Recovery
- Menstrual Irregularity
When I close my eyes and put my hands on you, I see pictures of what is going on in your life.
Sometimes I see behavior patterns, thought patterns, internal dialogues, relationship dynamics, etc. Trust that I’ll describe every picture I see to you with no judgement, and maybe a some laughter (pictures often look like hilarious cartoons). With your permission, I’ll remove the patterns that aren’t working for you, and input new suggested patterns that serve your authentic self. How do I do that? It’s magic.
I can’t tell you all my secrets, but I will talk you through your session, every step of the way!
Every session (unless you prefer otherwise) will involve the aroma of high quality plant medicine. Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts of plants and flowers. Some essential oils, like wild orange, purify the environment. Others, like lavender, promote relaxation.
I will carefully select essential oils that will benefit you during your session as long as you approve of the aroma.
These oils are a great way for you to treat yourself, and I might recommend oils for you to use at home.
I use exclusively doTerra essential oils because of their commitment to purity.

You should expect to feel relaxed and clear. It’s not unusual for people to feel a bit spacey for the 10-15 minutes following their session. This is completely normal. You are welcome to enjoy tea in the waiting room before you go on your way. For this reason, it is not ideal to rush out of your session and have somewhere to be.
Maybe. Your coverage depends largely on your individual policy. At Acu•Intuit we bill insurance as a courtesy to patients. We are not “in network” with any specific providers. As a patient, payment is required up front, but you will receive reimbursement if your policy covers all or a portion of your service. See patient forms to submit insurance inquiries.
This is a very challenging question to answer, as ever condition is unique. Generally, if you are seeking treatment for a chronic condition (that you have experienced for 6 months or longer) it will take more sessions to treat. If you are seeking treatment for a condition that is acute (that you have experienced for days/weeks) it will take fewer sessions to treat. Many patients who are regulars at Acu•Intuit come in monthly to keep their body/minds balanced and to prevent illness/disease.
No. Acu•Intuit is a form of preventative medicine. Even if you don’t have any specific health concerns, you’ll experience the relaxing and balancing aspect of this modality.
Wear loose fitting clothing. Pants that can be comfortably pulled above the knee are ideal. Should you forget ideal clothing, you may be asked to remove your clothing and cover yourself with a sheet so that all acupuncture points can be accessed comfortably.
Herbal medicine is often recommended, but not always. You will always go home with some type of homework, whether it be herbal, dietary, or otherwise.
